What should be included on a restaurant's website?

First things first, the contact info. That helps people find you and helps new patrons find you when they're googling. Your restaurant's name, logo, hours, parking info, and phone. Your menu page will likely be the most visited page. So that should definitely be in the top navigation. It's probably a good idea to include menu prices, dietary notes, and keep it updated. Don’t use a pdf or photo of your menu, make sure that the menu items are done with HTML. Google will find words on your pages, not words that are on an image. If you have a POS like Toast, then it's fairly straightforward to embed it from them.

For online ordering, just use links to any 3rd party ordering platforms that you're using. Make sure to use your specific link, not just the DoorDash or Uber Eats homepage, and make sure to get a special link from them so you're paying a lower % than orders that come from your site vs orders than come from the general app.

Don't use stock photos, use your own restaurant's photos.

A short 'About Us' page is nice to see too. Either a history of how you came up with the concept for your restaurant, or a history of the chef's journey in food, or if your location has a lot of history. Something personal and human.

If you offer catering, which you probably should since it's kinda like free marketing, have a separate catering page. The menu should include prices and serving sizes, plus a contact form so people can reach out to your GM easily without calling first.

Don’t forget about Yelp either. Make sure you’ve claimed your Yelp profile and that it has the right link back to your site, and make sure your site links back to your Yelp page.
